Father Collins Parish Centre
Fridays 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm
We are a small group of people from Passage West who want to be in the community, for the community. We are not a church, in that we don’t have any formal Sunday service. However, if you would like to attend a Sunday service we would recommend Douglas Baptist Church.
While we live in the community of Passage West we want to be for the community. With this in mind, there are many things we do that we feel would benefit the community in which we live. Every Friday we host a Bible study for all those in our community who might be interested in knowing more about God’s Word. As Christians, our primary desire is to point people to the Bible. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word to us and, as God’s Word, we believe it is relevant for our lives today.
But that is not all we do. We host events relating to relevant topics that might interest our community, such topics have included creation/evolution, depression etc. Also, for the last two years we have run soccer camps for kids in the local area. As individuals, we have sought to be as involved as we can in local events and activities that promote the good of Passage West and the surrounding area.
We don’t expect everyone in the community to attend everything that we do but we hope that, in some small way, we can provide something positive for the people of Passage West.
Our Bible Study is held on Friday evenings from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm in the Fr. Collins Parish Centre. This is an informal Bible study for everyone interested, whether it is your first time picking up a Bible or not.
The format is very easy going: There’s a short time where we read a Bible passage together. Then someone will talk about the passage we’ve just read and after that there is an opportunity for people to ask any questions that they may have.
There is tea and coffee provided maybe with some biscuits.
There is also a children’s club provided for those who have small kids where they play some games.
